Close to 400 Common Core-Aligned Professional Development Classes for Teachers Being Offered This Fall Through PLS 3rd Learning

Convenient delivery options allow educators to meet school districts’ Professional Development requirements through classes aligned to Charlotte Danielson’s framework for teaching. Participating teachers can apply what they learn the next day in their classrooms.

Buffalo, New York – Enrollment is open for Fall semester courses from PLS 3rd Learning through their dedicated enrollment website, Partnering with several colleges and universities across the country, PLS 3rd Learning offers on-site and online graduate education and professional development courses for educators beginning September 6th. PLS 3rd Learning also co-creates custom technologies to align standards-based content and resources.

Educators explore and apply innovative techniques that align with the values of the Net-Generation, including advances in technology, a team approach, and social networking.

Facilitating Online Learning Communities™
Teachers will discover and practice the skills of effective online facilitation necessary to nurture a successful online learning community, manage myriad facilitator roles, and communicate positively and effectively.

Instructional Design for Online Educators™
This course analyzes instructional design theories and approaches in the e-learning environment while applying the basics of instructional design. Participants will discover philosophies of e-learning and explore multimedia, interaction, and delivery tools for online courses.

Reading Across the Curriculum™
This class explores reading strategies designed to enhance comprehension in your content area.

SAS for Pennsylvania Educators™
Pennsylvania educators will explore a comprehensive approach to student achievement utilizing the Pennsylvania Standards Aligned System (SAS). Discover the power of SAS to align standards, create assessments, access the curriculum framework, plan instruction, and select resources for a safe and supportive learning environment. (This course meets the requirements for conversion to Level II Certification.)

Student Engagement and Standards-Based Learning™
Teachers will learn to optimize student engagement and achievement by developing high-yield learning activities aligned to standards and process skills along with experiencing a variety of standards-based activities (aligned with Common Core State Standards) for use in the classroom.
