Buffalo, New York — PLS 3rd Learning is proud to announce that Steve Barkley, Executive Vice President, will deliver the closing keynote at the upcoming New York State Council of School Superintendents (The Council) Fall Leadership Summit. PLS 3rd Learning will be sponsoring the closing session at the annual event, running Sunday through Tuesday, September 21st through the 23rd, 2014.
The theme of this year’s summit is Leading Transformative Education. Barkley’s closing comments will focus on creating schools for modern learners, capping off several days of discussion, meetings and workshops.
“Our company has supported the mission of The Council for many years,” said Michael Horning, Jr., Executive Vice President at PLS 3rd Learning. “Our partnership has led to opportunity and innovation as we work together to support educators in our home state.”
In partnership with LEAF, Inc., the professional development arm of The Council, PLS 3rd Learning launched the LEAF Institute for Blended and Online Learning earlier this year. The LEAF Institute offers professional learning opportunities for district teams committed to delivering high-quality blended and online learning for students.
“The great work of The Council and LEAF, Inc., empowers teachers and administrators to empower today’s learners,” said Barkley. “I’m honored to have the opportunity to address the education leaders at the closing session of this year’s summit. It’s an exciting time for districts as they plan the right investments for future learning.”
