Buffalo, New York – PLS 3rd Learning and LEAF, Inc. are proud to announce a new partnership with NYSUT Education & Learning Trust. Since 2014, educators have been engaged in online, fully facilitated professional learning opportunities around leading and supporting blended and online initiatives in their schools. The LEAF Institute for Blended and Online Learning offers courses for both administrators looking to implement programs in their schools and teachers who are charged with creating and implementing online and blended learning opportunities in their classrooms. Through the online, cohort-based course experiences, teachers and administrators engage with other professionals across New York State to build the necessary skills and strategies to ensure the success of blended and online learning initiatives for students.
“We are excited to partner with NYSUT ELT to reach a broader group of educators,” said Kelly Masline, Director, LEAF, Inc. “We firmly believe that New York State’s educators should be on the leading edge of what is taking place in K-12 classrooms across the country and these professional development opportunities prepare educators to implement the kinds of learning experiences that equip students with the tools needed to be successful in the 21st century.”
Catalina Fortino, Vice President of NYSUT Education & Learning Trust (ELT) said, “We aim to be a premiere professional development provider, and partnering with LEAF, Inc. and PLS 3rd Learning provides an opportunity to offer a critically important research-based, practical learning experience for our teachers. We believe the courses offered through the Institute meet an important need for our members.”
“Our team makes great efforts to build high-quality, research-based transformational learning experiences that empower teachers and administrators to powerfully engage students,” said Michael Horning, Jr., Executive Vice President of PLS 3rd Learning. “We are proud to partner with both LEAF, Inc. and NYSUT ELT to bring these offerings to educators across New York State.”
All LEAF Institute courses for teachers and administrators are fully facilitated and offer models for best practice around blended and online learning initiatives, job-embedded activities, collaborative experiences with other educators from across the state, and courses built around iNACOL’s Standards for Quality Online Courses and Standards for Quality Online Teaching.
